Banner Inspiration

Some techniques I might hope to use for my banner piece include:
  • banners that make use of the surroundings and architecture
  • some degree of interactivity
  • The compelling disgust and intrigue that seeing intestines brings people
  • Texture and layers

Interactive advertisement examples.

I LOOOOOVE this...  The purpose of this ad is to encourage people to take a break in nature for a moment, and enjoy plants and their calming effect. It might not be realistic for mass production, but the plants coming out from the poster instantly makes the audience want to engage and interact.

Nice typographic layering. A cool layered visual effect makes the concept richer.

Bubble-wrap over a typewriter to emulate the sound it might make, when you pop the bubbles. Also very neat, really good again just by virtue of its interactivity - people naturally are attracted to things they can participate in, and basically become part of the design.

A concept where the viewer removes something obscuring the poster. Curiosity would incite most people to remove the covering and see what is underneath. I would be interested in doing something similar with my banner (and poster too probably) because my concept is about pulling something apart and seeing what it is made of, hence the suitability of audience interaction with my theme.
